Dear Families,
After much consideration, we have made the decision to cancel this year’s work experience programme for year 10 students. Under the current circumstances, the safety of all of our students is our primary concern and we feel sending them into workplaces, which are still adapting to new social distancing guidelines would not be safe or have a positive impact on their wellbeing. We wholeheartedly believe in offering our students as much information and exposure to the world of work as possible and students should all now be signed up to the START PROFILE Careers Platform which has abundant information on job sectors, employability skills, further and higher education opportunities , apprenticeships and much more. I have attached details on registering and modules for homelearning, which was shared to all students via Show My Homework at the start of the lockdown.
In addition to this, the charity, Speakers for Schools is offering a virtual work experience programme which you may want to discuss with your son / daughter. Further details can be found at: https://www.s4snextgen.org/sign-up
