8 January 2019

Dear Families,

As part of our Careers, Information, Advice & Guidance programme, we aim to provide our students with experiences to help them make informed decisions in the future and prepare them for the world of work.

We are pleased to confirm, that once again, Burton Borough Students will take part in activities to improve their Enterprise & Employability Skills on 30th January as part of the EEL day programme. This will comprise of  two separate challenges: a STEM related challenge, focusing on team work and leadership skills , which will be delivered by the Army Youth Outreach team and an enterprise related challenge, focusing on presentations, creativity and communication skills delivered by a range of staff and school Governors.

The aim is to engage the students for the whole day in competitive, interactive team related challenges linked to the world of work.

Students MUST wear school uniform but they will need to bring trainers for the STEM activity in the Sports Hall.

Students will also need to bring a pen, a pencil and a ruler on the day. If they have coloured pens that would also be useful.

Photographs will be taken during the day for our twitter feed and newsletter, however if you wish your child not to be photographed, please contact me as soon as possible.

If you require any more information on the event or the Careers programme in general, please feel free to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Lisa Kane
Head of Professional Studies
