West Mercia police have asked us to make parents and carers aware of the following message:

At the moment we are experiencing complaints from residents and the public regarding parking violations by parents / carers dropping students off outside the school.

There have been numerous vehicles at drop off / collection times waiting and parking on zig-zags and double yellow lines. Obviously these offences can incur fines of up to £60 and drivers can be issues points on to their licences for failing to adhere to the road markings.

I know the frustration shared by parents at school drop off times but the road markings are there for a reason – mainly child safety.

This operation will take place in January 2019 and it will be robust and a zero tolerance approach. Therefore please could parents start adhering to the road markings as of now in preparation. It is an important issue as we want to protect pedestrians and pupils a like and this can only be accomplished if we work together.
