Numeracy Intervention

This intervention is an opportunity to re-visit the maths curriculum at a slower pace, providing time to secure skills taught in lessons and bridge any gaps in learning.  A variety of challenge is provided according to individual need.  Intervention is run by our Assistant SENDCo, who is also a Burton Borough maths teacher.

Dyscalculia Intervention

Dyscalculia is a difficulty understanding maths concepts and symbols. It is characterised by an inability to understand simple number concepts and to master basic numeracy skills.

Our intervention programme focuses on over learning and reinforcing the basic skills in numeracy, which may include learning number facts and procedures, number bonds, timetables and patterns in numbers.  We also focus on life-long maths skills such as telling the time, time keeping, understanding quantity, prices and money.
