On Thursday the BBS U13 Girls cricket team travlled ot take part in the National Cricket Finals.

The girls were fantastic all day and played exceptionally. They came out fighting against Parkstone Grammar with outstanding bowling and fielding. Grace Seymour wowed us by bowling out 4 players in 4 wickets and we won the game by 5 wickets.

The final was a lot more testing and Tonbridge Grammar were a great team. However we managed to keep their runs down in the first innings with our tight fielding. The girls were in high spirits going in to bat. Unfortunately in the end their experienced bowlers got the better of us and Tonbridge won by a mere 9 runs. However, the girls were fantastic ambassadors of Burton Borough School with excellent sportsmanship, manners and teamwork.

Scores:

Semi-final: Parkstone Grammar (Dorset) 33/6 (Grace Seymour, 4 wickets in 4 balls) BBS 34/3 in 5 overs (Charlotte Fletcher 7*) BBS win by 5 wickets

Final: Tonbridge Grammar (Kent) 54/4, BBS 45/6 (Paris Doyle, 10*) Tonbridge Grammar win by just 9 runs.
